It is a Portrait when….. its when you can only see the head and the shoulders that is needed as a portrait.
Portraiture is true to reality and for example Diane Arbus took photos of the matthei family with there daughter looking upset.

It is a Fashion photograph when…… The viewing on the whole person set from head to toe shows the style of the clothes or other things more than the person it may not be completely real the final photo maybe photo shopped or other manipulations may have taken place.
2. To what degree should an image manipulated to go into a fashion magazine?
In the film the following manipulations occurs.
How about manipulations to the photos before they are taken, models, Makeup, sets and clothes by changing the style of what they wear.
The change of the persons features like their skin colour or editing their face on a computer using Photoshop is wrong.
The good thing to change is the hair and make up to make the person look a lot different also changing the contrast is good.
This is an example of manipulation.

3. Is there a clash between the creative and commercial side of fashion Photography?
What clashes occur in the film between the creative and commercial?
The clash was between Anna and Grace choosing both clothes and which pictures to decide upon, Anna kept bossing Grace about telling her which is wrong and which is right and being in control of her by giving her orders.
Who wins? Commercial
Do you agree? Why?
No I don't agree because the photos they create end up in magazines or street advisement's either way but also the creative side could win by showing a better effect on fashion and by giving more ideas to make a balance between the two sides most times.
They used a 1920's type image and changed it for commercial reasons by doing this they diluted the creativity of the work.
In adverts they make the advert more perfect than it actually needs to be by photo shopping other things into for example changing the persons face another example using a really nice car, instead of using rain they change it to a perfect sunny day.
